We wanted to give you an update on Kramer (formerly known as 'Ricky'), from the New Year's Eve sheepadoodle litter.
He is totally wonderful. He's got it all -- he's gorgeous with a wonderful coat (still looks like he stuck his nose in a white paint can), smart, and very social. He's just short of five months old, and weighs about 35 lbs. Perfect size for us. We'll let you know his weight when he's fully grown (in case you breed his parents again).
He does exhibit some herding dog tendencies, which are new to us. At three and four months he'd bite our ankles/Achilles when we weren't doing what he wanted to do. Was a bit annoying, but he's past that now. We still find him underfoot, when he's trying to steer us in one direction or another. He still wants to bite and chew on everything -- totally normal puppy behavior, although he's not destroyed anything important. He really loves being outside. We have a half-acre backyard, and he's out there all the time. He retrieves and plays ball more avidly than our goldendoodle (who was theoretically half-retriever).
We totally adore him. My older son got home from his freshman year of college a couple of weeks ago. He was particularly heartbroken when our goldendoodle died in the fall. He spends all sorts of time with Kramer, both inside and outside. Just loves him.
I've attached a video that I took yesterday. Kramer is particularly good on his 'down/stays', so I thought I'd show him off.
Thanks again for everything (including trekking to the airport to meet Joan). Your puppy is in a home that absolutely treasures him.
Hope that you and the family are all doing well. -- Steve
