Andrea,
Oh my goodness!!! What a wonderful dog we have in Marley! She has really warmed up to us and it is just a treat to have her be a part of our family. I love the greeting she gives me in the morning when I come downstairs or when I get home! She is so excited to see us and has even started showing Greg her belly when he gets home from work!
You were right, she is very smart. She has made herself at home all over the house now. She'll go up the stairs then turn around and go back down. She won't come into the bedrooms and we have figured out why...she doesn't like the ceiling fans. I hope she can overcome that just because I'd rather have all the ceiling fans and windows open in the house instead of the A/C. She hides out in the living room when the breakfast room fan is turned on. She sleeps downstairs by herself but is always welcome upstairs with us.
She is going outside on her own and prefers it! She has now started to come back inside on her own and gets a treat when she does. This is so much easier than carrying her in although my arms will miss the workout! LOL!! We have been working on "wait" with her at the door since she likes to tear out of it once it opens.
She's eating on a more regular basis and her and the cat have come to terms with each other. Marley desperately wants to be friends but the cat just meows at her when he walks by...poor Marley!!
I'm going to start doing a little basic and leash training with her now that she's more comfortable here, although she has really gotten better on the leash already.
She's doing great and we just love her! Hope all is well with your new puppy! Is your new puppy a sibling of Marley's?
Keeley
