| As I look back upon our relationship with the Brewer's, I am touched by how open, available, and supportive Andrea Brewer was as she and her family, particularly Jeff, suffered the pain of cancer. Our son Gabriel has a rare congenital disease called arthrogryposis, which means contractures of the joints and atrophy of the muscles. In Gabe's case, this involves most of his joints. Andrea and Jeff donated one of their beautiful puppies to our family with the intent of Finnegan becoming a mobility and therapy aid for Gabe. The truth is that their gift has helped our older sons and continues to help them through many challenging times. Gabe's care requires a lot of time and attention and often our boys feel left out or alone. In essence, when our attention must turn towards Gabe, our older boys have found a friend who will play, cuddle and run with them. Finnegan has become the member of our family that we needed. Finnegan is a special part of our family and continues to grow and learn quickly how to best provide support for each member. We are truly grateful for their compassion and care!
