All about Goldendoodle Generations
Here at Brewer's, we specialize in F1 and F1B Goldendoodles. I'm always asked, "what is the difference in an F1 and F1B goldendoodle"? Below I have grouped together photos of both kinds of doodles to help see the differences. To the left, you will find a listing of doodle generations.
Golden Retriever X Poodle =
F1 Goldendoodle
F1 Goldendoodles are usually wavy in coat and likely to be light shedders.
F1 Goldendoodle X F1 Goldendoodle =
F2 Goldendoodle
F2 Goldendoodles can either be a somewhat even mix of each parent or may lean towards the poodle or golden in appearance. Shedding will depend on the overall mix in each puppy.
F1 Goldendoodle X Poodle =
F1 (F1B) Backcross Goldendoodle
An F1B Goldendoodle doodle is likely to have a curly coat, but may also be wavy. They are highly likely to be non-shedding and may be hypo-allergenic.
F1 Goldendoodle X F1B Goldendoodle =
F2B Goldendoodle
Moyen Poodle = A poodle who has one miniature and one standard parent. When a moyen poodle is bred to a golden it helps to bring down the size of the doodle offspring.
